Great post, Yellow Dog! Nobody does it like Shakespeare.
Willie wasn't known for pulling his punches.
And that is putting it nicely! That applies to Bush all right. They actually look alike.
Sadly we are seeing a tragedy. It is still unfolding and will be playing out long after Bush is gone.
True, so what do we do about it?
There is a little hope in the fact that the hushed whispers of "impeach" are growing louder all the time, from all sides. Let us pray for a crescendo! As Shakespeare would say, "Hark!"
One of the terrible ironies of the Bush administration is that history and literature have taught us lessons and yet "King George" and his loyal yes-men have not learned from these examples. One would think they'd be wiser, but their hubris, the tragic flaw that leads to the downfall of so many great ones, has blinded them to these realities. They are more than "in blood, steeped so far,"(from "Macbeth"); they are steeped in the same arrogance and overconfidence that led Macbeth to his unseemly end. Bush and his cronies seem destined for similar ignominy. The president would serve himself and the country well to read Shakespeare's tragedies again and learn from them.
I take comfort, Little Bill, from your eloquent "Hark!" and shall "Hark" as powerfully and as hopefully as I can.
The Yellow Dog's post said it so truely.
I agree with United We Lay: the real question remains: What can we do to wake up our fellow citizens and take back our constitution and our country???????
This is a great quotation, Dogg. I assume you're a YELLOW DOG DEMOCRAT?
