You know what signals or clues you in to the fact that you are reading a gifted writer, Lil'Bill? It's when you feel compelled to read something through again after the first read enraged you. And when you subsequently see your parameters & perimeters permanently altered. I'll keep my eye out for more stuff by Derrick Jensen. And, I'll try to think about living without hope. But, I don't know about this. . . .
