I just woke up from a refreshing nap that rather cleared my thinking. The first words I heard were Rep. John Boehner, Minority Leader of the House, saying words to the effect that “we can’t win the war in Iraq if the funds for our troops are withheld if we don’t meet the benchmarks.” My question is “how can we win a war that isn’t our war to win or lose?” It’s a civil war between two other sides, and we have just chosen to inject ourselves into the middle of it.

Hi Little Bill
My comment just failed so I will try it once more. The war in Iraq was for us lost the day Bush ignored all good advice and attacked so he could get into the middle east in order to implement what he thinks will be his new middle east order.
Bush must stay in the middle of his created civil war in Iraq until he finds the excuse to attack Iran. I expect that sometime this fall. Heaven help our kids being lied to and betrayed by Bush!
It's George + Dicks war, not our war.
You know just when I was starting to believe the Iran issue had died down to the point that an attack on them was not going to happen Darth Cheney goes and starts talking again that Iran would not be allowed to go nuclear. You would figure that with moderate repubs actually giving Bush a wake up call on Iraq he and Cheney would start to calm down and just play out the rest of their administration with the cards they have now.
Glad you're back, Beach.
I was born in Cleveland, but grew up in Wyoming, Darth Cheney's home state. I'm so ashamed!!
On the other hand, no, I'm not!! I'm just so glad that I broke away from the kind of thinking that still makes Wyoming-ites proud to be his supporters. Yellow Dog's map gives us hope, though, that Wyoming is changing for the better.
Yellow Dog Democrat has it right.
